Description
The Assistant Athletics Director of Performance Nutrition oversees the Performance Nutrition Program for Washington State Athletics and implementation of performance-based nutrition programming and protocols for all student-athletes, as well as serves as the primary point of contact for coaches, student-athletes, student services staff, and administrators.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Three years of experiences related to dietetics, nutrition, medicine or related field.
- Experience in an administrative role within a performance nutrition program.
- Accredited as a Registered Dietitian (RD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in related field.
- One year being in a supervisory role in a performance nutrition program.
- Three years experience counseling/advising clients in individual and group settings.
- Experience that demonstrates knowledge and expertise in performance nutrition, body composition evaluation and analysis, medical nutrition therapy, weight management and supplementation.
- Experience and strong background in coordinating health education programming related to clinical performance nutrition, weight management, eating disorders, meal planning, performance supplements, and performance enhancing drugs/products.
- Work experience that demonstrates the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary environment which includes: coaches, student-athletes, student services staff, and health care providers.
