This position that serves the 15 Division I sports programs will be housed in the athletic department and will report to the Athletic Director. It is the responsibility of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach to design, organize, implement, facilitate, oversee and evaluate all facets of the Athletic Strength and Conditioning Program. This includes the educational, monitoring and supervisory components as well as working within a shared facility. This position will work closely with the equipment staff, sports medicine staff, and classified staff. Will also work collaboratively with relevant constituent groups. This position will serve in an advisory role to the Athletic Director in evaluating all aspects of strength and conditioning for all student-athletes and to provide insight into possible improvements that can be made for all.
Master’s Degree in a related field with five (5) years of collegiate or professional experience (minimum of two (2) of those years in Division I) working as a Strength and Conditioning coach. Conditions of Employment Travel may be required a minimum of six (6) nights per year for various conferences and athletic events. Possess EMT certification. Applicants must be able to maintain a thorough knowledge of NCAA and institutional rules, regulations and policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
As a staff member within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, the person assuming this position is responsible for knowledge of and compliance with institutional, conference and NCAA rules, both those general in nature and those which apply specifically to their job responsibilities. Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA rules is a condition of employment in this position.
