Assistant Athletic Director for Student – Athlete Experience

Alabama State University, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, invites applicants to apply for the position of Assistant Athletic Director for the Student-Athlete Experience. The selected applicant will serve as a member of the Department of Athletics Student-Athlete Support Service Office which is committed to fostering the standard academic excellence for the University's NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics program, which consists of 18 sports and 400 student-athletes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary athletic academics contact, and as the academic advisor for student-athletes for various teams.
• Counsel student-athletes on academic matters and monitor their academic progress.
• Assist with the evaluation and certification of student-athletes NCAA initial, continuing, and transfer eligibility.
• Coordinate Academic Practice and assist with schedule development.
• Facilitate and recommend tutoring for students.
• Consult with coaches on student-athlete progress.
• Participate in on-campus recruiting activities.
• Assist with programs that are offered by the department.
