Description
The EVSC is seeking an Assistant Director of Elementary Grade Programs. This non-exempt position is scheduled 5 days a week, 52 weeks per year. This position oversees, organizes, and administers the interscholastic athletic program for elementary grades 4-5, as well as assist the high school athletic program for twenty one (21) high school IHSAA sanctioned sports. Provides additional support to the Office of Athletics in the essential daily activities of the Office of Athletics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists principals in selecting, assigning, and evaluating coaching personnel.
- Provides additional representation for the EVSC in matters of interscholastic athletics with stakeholders including but not limited to the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA).
- Provides support for high school athletic directors and programs which includes the High School Athletic Council and Conference committees.
- Schedules all athletic contest for all elementary grade programs.
- Responsible for the hiring, scheduling and evaluating all officials for elementary grade athletic contests.
- Develops appropriate league rules and regulations necessary for the operation of the elementary grade athletic program.
- Fosters good school-parent relations by maintaining the EVSC athletic web page and social media platforms with relevant timely information.
- Develops and oversees the Elementary School Athletic Council which is the governing body that establishes and implements the playing rules, physical fitness requirements, and academic guidelines for eilgibility and participation.
- Organizes and facilitates elementary school tournament events as well as IHSAA tournament events.
