Assistant Athletic Director of Events and Facilities

The Illinois State University Athletics Department is committed to academic and athletic excellence as it prepares today's student-athletes to become tomorrow's leaders. This position directly contributes to that mission by directing and coordinating the management of intercollegiate athletic events. This position is responsible for planning, organizing; staffing and managing assigned intercollegiate athletic events and activities; and serving as Director of Championship events. While the position is primarily focused on athletic event operations, it also provides support for key facility functions, including operational readiness and safety.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Hospitality, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Student Affairs, Sports Management, or a closely related field.
• Two (2) years (24 months) of professional work experience in Events Planning, Conference Management, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Athletic Events and Game Operations at the collegiate level, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with a variety of populations.
• Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in athletics administration or related field.
• One (1) year or more of previous event management experience in Division 1 collegiate or professional athletics.
• Supervisory experience including hiring, promotion and scheduling of staff for events, competitions and services.
