Description
This position routinely works with student-athletes implementing training plans to optimize athletic development; teach, build relationships, motivate, and track progression. Design annual training plans to meet the unique demands of each student-athlete and sport. Constantly communicate with athletic trainers to update student-athletes status. Mentor volunteer coaches, interns, etc. Partake in personal and professional development.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree.
- Certification through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCCcertification) or the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS certification).
- Prior experience in collegiate or professional strength & conditioning setting.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to a high degree of integrity and adherence to the University, NCAA, and Missouri Valley Conference rules and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multi-tasking environment, with a strong sense of principles and ethics in regard to the welfare of student-athletes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years collegiate experience.
- Effectively build coach-athlete relationships and motivate intercollegiate athletes
- Ability to design and implement comprehensive annual training plans to optimize athletic performance for each student athlete
- Knowledge and experience in teaching on-field and weight room movement skills and identify technical deficiencies
- Experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships with department staff and other athletic department personnel.
