Description
The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for an Assistant Athletic Trainer to support the Sports Medicine office. This position will provide sports medicine coverage for Women's Lacrosse and camps.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- One year of certified athletic trainer experience in an NCAA institutional athletic environment.
- Eligibility for state licensure. National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and CPR/AED certifications are required. Valid driver's license also required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience working in a Division I-A institution.
- Experience providing sports medicine care for overhead sports and/or overuse injuries.
- Experience working as a certified athletic trainer or first aid provider for camps.
- First aid/CPR instructor.
- Experience working in the supervision and education of student interns and graduate assistants.
- Additional certifications: CES, PES, FMS, cupping, and/or Graston certifications preferred.
