Description
Responsible for the organization, management and administration of the academic support system as related to the student's needs within the university's Division I athletics program. Promote academically responsible student-athletes; assist and enhance student-athletes' academic efforts to maintain satisfactory progress toward degree completion and athletics eligibility.
Core Responsibilities:
- Adhere to University, The American Conference, UTSA Athletics, and NCAA policies and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of department activities, sports schedules, and procedures.
- Foster cooperative working relationships with fellow staff members within the department.
- Support the athletics department goals and philosophies as descripted by the Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and work to achieve and uphold the department's mission statement and core values with commitment to developing champions in the classroom, in competition and in life.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward performing job duties and in working with other staff.
- Exhibit professional decorum at all times while representing UTSA Athletics, including routine events and meetings that occur outside of the office and on the road.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution.
- 2 years of academic advising experience or related experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and problem solve.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations at the Division I level.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
