Description
The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance is responsible for organization and administration of the Athletics Department’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) compliance program. The Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance certifies eligibility and processes financial aid for student-athletes, monitors coaches’ activities relative to rules compliance, and interacts with departmental staff members and coaches to ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor all S-A eligibility and financial aid to ensure compliance with all NCAA, Conference, and Institutional rules and regulations.
- Maintain and oversee all S-A information files including, but not limited to: Grant-in-aids, National letter of Intent, NCAA and Conference eligibility lists, Student Athlete biographical information, required permission forms (NCAA, drug testing, etc.), academic records, recruiting records.
- Serve as liaison between the Athletics Department and the offices of the Admissions, Registrar, and Financial Aid.
- Maintain a calendar of dates and reports that must be sent to the NCAA and/or Conference and monitor compliance.
- Plan, develop, and implement programs of in-service training, staff development and rules-education for institutional administrators, athletics staff, coaches, S-As and boosters. Communicate internal and external compliance rules to employees.
- Investigates all Possible Alleged Violations of NCAA Bylaws. Responsible for reporting all secondary violations. Also, investigate areas of noncompliance within the University.
- Communicate with the President, Director of Athletics, SWA and Faculty Athletics Representative all compliance concerns including alleged Level I and II violations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three (3) years’ experience in intercollegiate athletics.
