Description
The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance oversees the planning, organization, and daily operations of the Athletics Compliance program. This includes the development, implementation, and monitoring of all systems designated to ensure compliance related to Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL), student-athlete admissions, initial and continuing eligibility, recruitment, financial aid, and NCAA and ASUN Conference rules and regulations.
Typical Duties:
- Directs all aspects of the NCAA compliance program. Develops policies and procedures to monitor and ensure compliance with the university, NCAA, and conference rules and regulations in the areas of recruitment, financial aid, amateurism, and initial eligibility.
- Participates in the strategic planning for Athletics Compliance and assists with developing and implementing the departmental strategic plan.
- Ensures the compliance of all university athletics programs with NCAA rules and regulations governing financial aid to student-athletes. Monitors all financial aid awarded to student-athletics and assists the financial aid office with NCAA squad lists. Compiles and obtains signatures on NCAA eligibility certification forms and squad lists.
- Ensures all student-athletes are eligible to participate in the intercollegiate athletics programs. Maintains transfer portal and works with the NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse in processing eligibility requirements.
- Develops and maintains NCAA Division I Compliance Manual and Recruitment Manual. Updates the rules education information and compliance forms on the compliance website. Generates and maintains all compliance forms.
Qualifications:
- This position requires either nine years of directly full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and five years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
- Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook).
