Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with the Director of Athletics to develop policies and guidelines regarding all aspects of the sports medicine department and the athletic department as a whole.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide evaluations, care and prevention, rehabilitation, and emergency care to student-athletes.
• Responsible for requisition and storage of all supplies.
• Serve as liaison between coaches, physicians, student-athletes, and parents in injury or insurance matters
• Oversee compilation, input, organization, and maintenance of all medical records for student-athletes
• Work closely with University Health Services regarding student health insurance, athletic department secondary insurance policy, and injured athletes
• Supervise/evaluate assistant athletic trainers
• Assist the Director of Athletics in the preparation of the athletic training budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Master's degree in a related field.
• Must possess current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required. Must have the ability to work with the traditional college-aged student population.
