Concordia University Chicago invites applications for the position of Assistant Baseball Coach. The Assistant Coach is responsible for planning, developing, and administering the baseball program to achieve program, department, and university goals. This 12-month position includes, but is not limited to, directing all phases of a successful Division III program and ensuring compliance with CUC, NACC, and NCAA Division III rules. Individual must be able to recruit academically qualified and athletically competitive student-athletes and to motivate them to realize their potential in the classroom and on the field.
The successful candidate will have coaching experience with pitchers at the college level. Concordia University baseball program is a program of excellence and the expectation of success is expected. The coach will also have responsibility in public relations. The duties of the Assistant Baseball Coach will include coaching, recruiting, and a responsibility for supporting the Head Coach of a high level NCAA Division III baseball program. Because of the inherent visibility of collegiate athletics on campus and in the greater community, it is expected that the Coach will display excellent communication skills, Christian principles, and exhibit teamwork with other academic, student life and administrative divisions of the College and be an ardent supporter of the mission of the University.
Essential Responsibilities include:
- Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate recruiting and scouting activities.
- Analyze performance and instruct athletes in game techniques and strategies in preparation for and during athletics competition.
- Oversee the pitchers in the baseball program, as well as work under the Head Coach
- Work with Head Coach on Fundraising for the program
- Establish close relationships with student-athletes and maintain effective lines of communication.
- Establish a positive relationship between the current and alumni baseball players.
Minimum Experience Required:
Prior experience with college coaching preferred. A commitment to continued professional growth and a commitment to the mission and values of a church-related liberal arts college are expected.
A minimum of A Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
