This 9-month 62% temporary position (September 1 – November 30th) (January 1-June 30th) is responsible for assisting the Head Baseball Coach with organizing and coaching the baseball team and providing academic advising. The Assistant Men’s Baseball Coach reports to the Head Baseball Coach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides instruction as directed by the head baseball coach.
Assists with the supervision of practices and games.
Actively encourages academic success and degree completion among student athletes. Assists in monitoring study hall attendance and faculty progress reports for student-athletes participating in the baseball program.
Receives and maintains the DSCC Master Advisor certification.
Assists with transport of athletic teams to and from games and tournaments. Maintains a commercial driver license.
Assists with the supervision of team activities.
Assists with equipment inventory and maintenance.
Assists with field maintenance and preparation.
Assists in coordinating fund raising activities following state and DSCC policies.
Participates in the annual athletic awards program.
Assists in maintaining program compliance with NJCAA and TCCAA eligibility criteria and reporting as requested by the Head Baseball Coach.
Throws high quality batting practices daily.
Assists with recruiting and retaining student athletes.
Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 50 lbs), walking, pushing, and pulling on a regular basis. Occasional exposure to risk controlled by safety precautions. Travel, including overnight travel, will be required to and from games, and for college or program activities.
