Assist the head coach in the administration and operation of the baseball program consistent with the policies of Miami University, the NCAA, and other appropriate governing bodies (i.e. Mid-American Conference). This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
Identify student-athletes to be considered for recruitment; determine when and where to recruit prospective student-athletes; input in regards to who will be offered scholarships; facilitate all official and unofficial recruiting visits; input regarding roster management; coordinate practice dates/times; assist in in/out season conditioning program; train and supervise the team student manager; provide assistance regarding game strategy; supervise organization and orchestration of scouting reports; maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with NCAA, MAC and University rules and regulations; enforce departmental policies regarding student-athletes, training and equipment rooms.
Master’s degree; experience in teaching baseball skills; network of contacts in primary recruiting areas and an understanding of the complex rules and policies of the NCAA.
