Description
This position is responsible for assisting the head coach in creating and maintaining a successful program for the institution on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college’s mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.
- Identifies and recruits potential student athletes.
- Assists the head coach with practice plans and game strategies for upcoming opponents.
- Performs on-field instruction and player development.
- Conducts and supervises individual trainings for student athletes and off-season conditioning.
- Monitors progress of student athletes and implements strategies to ensure academic and athletic success with an emphasis on sportsmanship, integrity, a competitive spirit, and academic success.
- Performs administrative duties, including camp coordination, traveling, and executing tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one (1) to two (2) years.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license for the type of institution vehicle or equipment operated as transporting team players/members to and from away games may be required.
