Description
Maryville University is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Athletics Department as an Assistant Baseball Coach. The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the baseball program, contributing to player development, team strategy, and overall program success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with talented student-athletes in a competitive collegiate environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist with the recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes to compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), and be among the top programs within the conference.
- Assist with the administration of the baseball program as determined by the head coach.
- Assist with adherence to the program’s operational and recruitment budget.
- Assist with alumni outreach and development as determined by the head coach including but not limited to opportunities to meet, invitations to appropriate team activity and other stewardship
- Understand and follow the rules, regulations and protocol of the University, GLVC and the NCAA.
Qualifications:
- A strong understanding of the game of baseball, including rules, regulations, and tactical aspects.
- Ability to effectively communicate with student-athletes, staff, parents, and other university stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple responsibilities, including practice planning, travel logistics, and recruiting efforts.
- Genuine interest in the academic and athletic development of student-athletes. Demonstrated commitment to promoting a positive and supportive team culture.
- Previous coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or club level or team leadership as an athlete is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in baseball coaching techniques, training methodologies, and game strategy.
