Description
The Assistant Baseball Coach will support the Head Coach in all aspects of coaching, including planning and conducting practices, preparing for games, and fostering a positive and safe environment. This role is vital in helping our student-athletes achieve their full potential both on and off the field. This role will also focus on managing the pitching staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting practice sessions.
- Support the development and implementation of game strategies.
- Provide instruction and development to pitchers and manage the pitching staff.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of talented student athletes.
- Participate in team events, fundraisers, and community engagement activities.
- Monitor academic progress and support student-athletes in balancing their academic and athletic commitments.
- Ability to recruit student-athletes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to hear well enough to communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, and athletes.
- Frequently convey detailed or important coaching instructions and ideas accurately, clearly, and quickly.
- Ability to demonstrate pitching techniques
- Ability to hit fungos and throw batting practice.
- Strong visual and auditory abilities to quickly and accurately assess performances and provide feedback.
- Willingness and ability to travel and endure long hours during games, practices, and events.
