Description
The assistant coach provides administrative, instructional, and recruiting support services under the direction of the head coach and athletic director.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Utilize video analysis and other tools to identify areas for improvement in player performance.
- Assist with planning and organizing practices, particularly for infielders and pitchers, ensuring a comprehensive approach to player development.
- Actively participate in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes under the direction of the head coach.
- Collaborate with academic support personnel to ensure student-athletes' academic success.
- Partner with athletic training and strength and conditioning staff to support player health, conditioning, and rehabilitation.
- Demonstrate a sincere interest in the personal, academic, and athletic development of student-athletes.
- Exhibit supportive, cooperative, and professional behavior to achieve program goals and foster team culture.
- Efficiently and effectively complete assignments and demonstrate openness to feedback from the head coach.
- Adhere to departmental and institutional policies, as well as NCAA Division III rules and regulations.
- Contribute to a positive working environment by maintaining respectful relationships with staff, student-athletes, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated baseball coaching experience, with a focus on pitching.
- Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules.
- Strong interpersonal, teaching, and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
