Dakota State University is seeking candidates for an Assistant Baseball Coach – Pitching Coach. This is a ten-month, benefit eligible position. The purpose of this position is to support and enhance the direction of the Dakota State University Athletic Department and the baseball program.
As the Assistant Baseball Coach – Pitching Coach, the incumbent will assist the head coach in all aspects of the baseball program including but not limited to complete administration and development of the pitching staff, recruiting, scouting reports, fundraising, strength and conditioning, practice/game planning and coaching, player evaluation, mentoring, academic monitoring, team travel, field maintenance, manage equipment, community service, and camps. Additional administrative and compliance duties include active participation in Athletic Department functions, eligibility, maintenance of the baseball website, working as a liaison with the Admissions Office to coordinate student visits on campus and assist with the management of the developmental/JV team.
The incumbent for this position must have the ability, technical skills and proven knowledge to work with collegiate student-athletes. Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) are necessary. Must possess ability to coach, mentor, develop student-athletes and work evening and weekend hours and travel as required by the position. Preferred consideration will be given to candidates with a pitching background (playing and/or coaching), recruiting experience and knowledge of NAIA rules. Additionally, the applicant must have the ability to attain a CDL Driver’s License for driving of team personnel. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
