Wabash College invites applications for the position of Assistant Basketball Coach / Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. Reporting to the Head Basketball Coach and Associate Director of Athletics & Campus Wellness, the Assistant Basketball Coach assists the head coach in all operations of the basketball program and jointly serves as strength and conditioning specialist for all varsity sport programs at the College. Experience playing, coaching, and recruiting intercollegiate men’s basketball is strongly preferred. An existing strength and conditioning certification (e.g. CSCS), or the intent to obtain a certification, is required. A bachelor’s degree is required.
Duties include, but are not limited to: successful recruitment of academically and athletically prepared basketball student athletes; the highest commitment to student-athlete health and well-being; directing skill instruction and development; coordination of team travel, especially team meals; coordination of social media for the basketball program; monitoring academic progress of student-athletes; assisting in marketing and promotional efforts for the basketball program; developing weight training and conditioning programs; teaching proper techniques in the weight room and oversight of team workouts, and monitoring weight room safety. Adherence to institutional, conference, and NCAA Division III policies and procedures is required. Assist with other duties as assigned by the Head Basketball Coach, Associate Director, and/or Director of Athletics & Campus Wellness.
