Assistant Coach, Defensive Coordinator, Women’s Lacrosse

The George Mason University Intercollegiate Athletics Department, invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach, Women’s Lacrosse on the Fairfax, Va., campus. This is a full-time, 12-month professional faculty position. George Mason University is a member of the Atlantic 10 (A10) and operates a Division I Lacrosse Program.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the operation of the program;
• Recruit quality student-athletes;
• Organize and train athletes for competition;
• Monitor and support the academic success of athletes;
• Plan comprehensive pre- and post-season skill-specific development and progressions;
• Lead on alumni relations and program newsletter;
• Collaborate on public relations and social media initiatives with Athletic Communications representative; and
• Carry out other relative administrative duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience coaching at moderate to high level;
• High-level playing experience;
• Quality writing skills; and
• Quality interpersonal skills.
