Description
This position is responsible for assisting the football program and the assisting the management of the team’s strength and conditioning program. Ideal candidate will have demonstrated success recruiting at the NCAA D3 level. Also responsible for supporting the football program by assisting with the planning and conducting training and practices. Will also be tasked with mentoring players to ensure academic success as well as reviewing game film and data entry for game planning.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes that allow the program to be in a position of competitive leadership in the Northern Athletics Conference. This will include talent evaluation, coordinating mailings, telephone calls, and email exchanges, monitoring recruitment process, on campus and off campus in-person contacts. Recruit student-athletes in specified areas and/or schools as assigned by the Head Coach. Work with the Recruiting coordinator on identifying prospects and maintaining the recruiting database.
- Responsible to coach a position and assist the coaching staff with scouting reports, film editing, game and practice plans. Assist in the planning, development, and direction of all team training and conditioning activities in the traditional and nontraditional segment at a level that will place program in a position of competitive leadership in the Northern Athletics Conference.
- Coordinate the exchange of video for the football program. Responsible for the supervision of student film crew for practices and games. Responsible for editing and breakdown of all games into computer video editing system.
- Assist with the retention of student athletes through social and academic counseling; interaction with University retention team and coaching staff. Retention of student-athletes, along with support of Student Athlete Services, by effectively coordinating and communicating attendance to all SOAR and department sponsored events.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred.
- Experience: Previous collegiate coaching preferred.
- Specific Skills: Knowledge of NCAA Division III philosophy, recruitment, rules and regulations.
- Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Yes. Organizational skills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, data entry and budget management skills and demonstrated supervisory skills. Valid Driver’s License required. CPR/AED/First Aid required within the first 90 days of employment.
