Description
The Assistant Football Coach at the University of La Verne is a multifaceted role combining coaching responsibilities with key operational oversight of the football program. This position will serve as an integral part of the coaching staff while managing essential logistical functions that support the day-to-day operation of the program. This position will oversee team logistics, including travel coordination, event management, and football equipment management.
Qualifications:
- Ability to organize and operate an effective football program while motivating and mentoring student-athletes. Includes (but not limited to) 3 years of collegiate football coaching experience, budget, team travel, inventory, equipment, uniforms, scheduling, fundraising, student-athlete academic progress, alumni relations, and rules compliance experience.
- Ability to stay abreast of current and developing trends (video, voice, data, and computing technologies).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and personnel simultaneously.
- Demonstrated awareness and commitment to effectively establishing relationships and positive communications across multiple dimensions of diversity including, but not limited to race, gender, sexual preference/identity, physical limitations, class or religious perspectives.
- Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change and high pressure.
- Ability to travel and recruit student athletes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Duties:
- Assist with coaching responsibilities, either with the offense or defense, as assigned by the Head Coach.
- Develop and implement practice plans, skill development drills, and strategies to improve individual and team performance.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach and other coaching staff to devise game strategies, evaluate player performance, and provide individual coaching during practice sessions and games.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the football program, ensuring efficient coordination of practice schedules, team activities, and internal communications.
- Oversee team travel logistics, including transportation, accommodations, meals, and other travel-related needs for both home and away games.
- Ensure that all operational functions are carried out seamlessly, including the coordination of team meetings, film sessions, and administrative tasks.
