Description
The Assistant Coach provides leadership and direction to all facets of the program in advancing the mission of the university and Department of Athletics. Specific areas of responsibility include (but are not limited to) sport specific coaching, recruitment, and student-athlete development (including academic support) yielding agreed upon results.
Responsibilities:
- Develop student-athletes with counseling, advising, educating, and motivating.
- Develop student-athletes through inspiration, discipline, and rewards.
- Monitor, evaluate, and retain student-athletes.
- Assist in team building and character development with student-athletes.
- Assist in planning (practices, training sessions, team and individual conditioning, line-ups, and competitive strategies).
- Assist in instruction and demonstration of techniques and skills.
- Assist in evaluating/assessing, effectiveness and results.
- Assist in adapting/refining strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's Degree preferred.
- One to three years related work experience.
- Experience as a student-athlete required.
- NCAA Certification required.
- CPR/First Aid required.
- Works well with in a collaborative team environment.
- Leadership & team-building abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
