Description
The Assistant Football Coach will support the Head Football Coach in overseeing all aspects of the football program in accordance with NCAA, American Athletic Conference and University rules and regulations.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the University’s intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, the American Athletic Conference, and the NCAA.
- Support the head football coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting team practices, training, and competition.
- Assist the Head Coach, as directed, in the recruitment of student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules and university standards.
- Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
- Establish a productive, well-rounded environment which stresses the importance of academics in conjunction with athletics.
- Establish a professional relationship with students, staff, alumni and the general public in an effort to promote the university and its athletics program.
- Work closely with athletic training, academics and strength and conditioning to monitor the progress of student athletes.
