Description
Performs a variety of functions and responsibilities, assigned by the head coach including but not limited to, coaching, budget management, recruiting, purchasing equipment, supplies, uniforms, etc. Schedules games and practices for assigned athletics program. Responsible for program public relations and fundraising. Adheres to all rules and regulations of KSU, NCAA and Conference USA (CUSA). Assists in the organization and planning of practices, player development, academic support and monitoring, regional recruitment of quality prospective student-athletes, attendance at team competitions, and assists with administrative duties assigned by the Head Coach.
Responsibilities:
- Coaches assigned position(s) and assists coaching staff in all aspects related to the assigned program.
- Supports the implementation of plans and programs which will achieve appropriate and necessary academic progress, retention and timely graduation of each student-athlete on the roster.
- Provides leadership and support for department-wide priorities and initiatives.
- Organizes, supervises, coordinates and employs sound coaching techniques and practices.
- Participates in university and Department of Athletics events as required.
- Prepares student-athletes physically, mentally, and emotionally to compete for Conference Championships and post-season competitions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's from an accredited institution of higher education or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
- Current, valid, and unrestricted Georgia driver's license.
- One (1) year relevant experience coaching in a post-secondary level program, professional athlete, professional tour participant or professional coach in a related sports program.
