Assistant Coach Junior Varsity Boys Basketball

EF Academy, Pasadena is looking for an Assistant Coach for Junior Varsity to support the Boys Basketball program. EF Academy competes in the competitive Prep League, which includes Flintridge Prep, Pasadena Poly, Chadwick, Providence, and Rio Hondo Prep. The Assistant Coach will emphasize the development of life skills, and provide an exemplary experience for students, in support of the mission and vision of EF Academy.

Requirements:

• Experience playing and/or coaching competitive athletics at or above the high school level.
• Acquire, possess, and maintain current coaching certifications and trainings as required by CIF and the State of California before employment can begin.
• 3+ Years working with high school aged students preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and coach practice and game plans outlined by the Head Coach.
• Supervise and coach the assigned athletic team at all scheduled practices, games, and events.
• Collaborate with the Head Coach to establish and maintain expectations of behavior for athletes and the team that reflect positively upon EF Academy.
• Demonstrate and promote sportsmanship towards opponents, teammates, officials, and spectators.
• Serve as a mentor to athletes, supporting and encouraging their holistic growth.
• Drive the athletic team to all off-campus events, including practices and competitions.
• Ensure proper care, use, and safety of athletic equipment, supplies, and facilities.
• Support the Head Coach in monitoring athletic team compliance with all CIF-SS, Athletic Department, and EF Academy rules and regulations.
