Description
The Assistant Coach of Men's Ice Hockey will assist in the operation of a highly competitive Division I Men's Hockey program, assisting in all recruiting activities, recruitment of prospective student-athletes, practice and game preparation and coaching, relationship building with student-athletes; and academic preparation for success of student-athletes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, successful experience in a Division I ice hockey program; the ability to identify highly competitive student-athletes who successfully represent the institution athletically and academically; strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated experience working effectively with students, faculty, staff and alumni from diverse backgrounds. Thorough knowledge of recruiting practices and NCAA regulations are required.

Academic Coordinator: Communicates importance of academic success to student-athletes. Encourages student-athletes to set and achieve academic goals. Utilizes academic progress reports and works closely with SASS team advisors. Meets with student-athletes to review academic goals

Coaching: Manage practice and game preparation and responsibilities. Assist with practice preparation, scout opposing team, plan game strategies and coach from the bench during games. Displays a technical knowledge of the sport and stays informed of coaching trends, techniques and strategies.

Compliance & Administrative: Follows all NCAA, conference and University rules and regulations. Attends educational seminars/meetings. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations. Inputs recruiting activities in ARMS on a regular basis for better tracking of NCAA rules and regulations. Display professionalism, good judgment and support of department's goals and objectives.
