Description
Nazareth University Men’s Ice Hockey Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in leading our NCAA Division III program. The Assistant Coach will have a passion for the sport and a commitment to fostering the development of student-athletes both on and off the field.
Essential Functions:
- Recruitment & Retention: Identify and recruit talented student-athletes who embody the university’s values and have the potential to succeed academically and athletically.
- Coaching & Development: Assist in planning and conducting team practices, providing individual and group instruction, and developing game strategies.
- Game-Day Preparation: Support all aspects of game-day operations, including scouting opponents, preparing game plans, and managing equipment and logistics.
- Team Management: Enforce team and school policies, ensuring student-athletes adhere to NCAA Division III, Empire Eight Conference (or applicable conference), and university regulations.
- Community Engagement: Participate in fundraising, alumni relations, and community outreach activities to promote the program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Prior coaching or playing experience at the collegiate level.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills; proficiency with technology used in recruiting and coaching.
