Description
The Oberlin College Department of Athletics and Physical Education invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; two years of coaching and/or relevant competitive experience; strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills; ability to recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes; organize official visits including assigning hosts, and create itineraries while adhering to all NCAA Division III regulations.
- Current certification as an American Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguard Training Instructor is highly recommended as well as knowledge of Hy-Tek Meet and Team Manager Software.
Responsibilities:
- This position will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming in all aspects of coaching, recruiting, organizing arrangements for home/away competitions; securing travel arrangements for the team; and participating in the arrangement of team and fundraising activities administering within the swimming program.
- The incumbent will also have secondary department and physical education administrative responsibilities including scheduling pool rentals, supervising the lifeguard staff, and lifeguard staff payroll.
