Assistant Coach of Women’s Lacrosse

Mercyhurst University, an NCAA Division I member of the Northeast Conference (NEC), invites applications for the position of Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach to develop, promote, and participate in all facets of the Women’s Lacrosse program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Recruit, train, and coach members of the lacrosse program.
• Promote academic excellence, integrity, and graduation. Monitor academic progress, academic meetings, class scheduling and attendance.
• Coordinate team travel for competitions to include van or bus itineraries, lodging, and meals.
• Plan, promote, and conduct camps, clinics, and/or lessons.
• Assist in fundraising efforts.
• Develop meaningful relationships with prospective, current, and former student athletes.
• Represent Mercyhurst University and the lacrosse program in a professional manner.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Demonstrate highly developed verbal and written skills and the interpersonal skills needed for work with adults on the Autism Spectrum.
• Demonstrate ability to work as a team player.
• Conflict resolution skills and training are strongly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the AIM program and behavior management strategies.
• Demonstrate ability to express ideas clearly, exercise balanced judgment in evaluating situations, and make good decisions.
