Description
This position is responsible for assisting with the overall administration, planning, management and direction of an NCAA Division I softball program competing as a member of the MW Conference.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in HPER, HES, Sports Management, Recreation, Business, Education, Marketing, Kinesiology, Liberal Arts, Communication, Sociology or any other field related to responsibilities and duties.
- Previous softball coaching or competitive playing experience required, preferably at the NCAA Div. I level.
- Ability to pitch batting practice and to hit to infield/outfield on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the establishment of a philosophy and method of coaching that will result in winning records, conference championships and opportunities for post-season competition.
- Demonstrate ability and knowledge in coaching the sport including pre-season, in-season and off-season programs designed to maximize the athletic and competitive success of student-athletes.
- Assist in the evaluation of individual strengths and weaknesses of student-athletes and develop strategies to enhance performance.
- Demonstrate an ability to influence and motivate student-athletes on and off the field.
