Assistant Coach – Softball

The Assistant Coach reports directly to the Head Coach and is responsible for assisting the Head Coach as directed. This position also serves as a Campus Safety Authority as required by federal law in the Clery Act.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach with sport specific instruction related to performance enhancement of your student athletes including physical health, teamwork, and safety.
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
• Assist in the recruitment and training of quality student-athletes for successful competition.
• Public relations and promotional activities appropriate to the position as assigned by the Head Coach.
• Monitoring and supporting the academic success of student-athletes.
• Assist with travel, meal and motel arrangements. Budget and records management.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of sport and how to teach it.
• Knowledge and understanding of all NJCAA and Jayhawk Conference rules and regulations.
• Classroom management, teaching and student assessment techniques.
• Good human relations skills as it pertains to recruiting.
• Good public relations skills as it pertains to promoting the program and athletic department.
