Description
At the direction of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach is responsible for teaching and instructing the student-athletes. Responsibilities include running aspects of the practices, assisting in making strategic decisions in competition situations, and assisting and participating in all aspects of teaching the students the elements of the sport. The Assistant Coach will conduct all applicable operations in a manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of the University and Athletics Department in accordance with the NCAA, CAA, ECAC and IC4A rules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2-3 years of intercollegiate varsity and/or professional coaching experience or other related experience. Must have sport specific technical and tactical knowledge.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well both independently and in collaboration with staff as a team member.
- Creative problem-solving skills and solutions focused approach to challenges and improvements.
- Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed during peak game and recruiting seasons.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee logistics of program and operational management. Provide direct administrative support and coordination to the coaching staff and support personnel.
- Assist in operations related to recruiting (database management, camps, clinics, visits, mailings, etc.) and team travel (meals, lodging, itineraries, etc.)
- Building alumni relationships and engaging in fund-raising efforts for program.
