Purdue University seeks Assistant Coach - Men’s and Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country. This position assists and reports to the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field Head Coach. Proficient knowledge and experience with recruitment and retention of student-athletes, training, mentoring and instructing student athletes in the areas of horizontal jumps, vertical jumps and combined events is vitally important. A successful candidate must possess advanced knowledge and skillset in writing and administering yearly training plans for multiple track and field disciplines. The incumbent will monitor academic progress of student athletes as well as communicate regularly with Head Coach concerning, student athlete welfare and safety, eligibility, student athlete academic and athletic progress and recruiting.
2 years coaching or playing experience at D-I or D-II level.
Ability to analyze, interpret, communicate, and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Ability to influence and build positive relationships among diverse individuals including: student-athletes, parents, coaches, media, faculty, staff, students, and general public.
Excellent communication (oral & written), planning, organizational, interpersonal, interviewing, strength training, and counseling skills.
