Description
The Assistant Coach, Women’s Basketball will assist Setsuko Ishiyama Director of Women’s Basketball with recruiting, coaching, and developing a championship caliber team. The assistant coach is responsible for operating within the rules of the Pac-12 Conference and NCAA, as well as all institutional policies. This position is based on the Stanford main campus with the option of a hybrid schedule during certain times of year, subject to operational needs.
Your responsibilities include:
- Assist with identifying and recruiting top student-athletes to compete at Stanford within the context of applicable NCAA regulations and University admissions expectations.
- Assist with leadership and instruction in personal and athletic development of student-athletes, including overall team management in areas such as academic, disciplinary, and personal matters when appropriate.
- Participate in overall DAPER education and activities, such as regular coaches’ meetings and compliance education sessions.
- Participate in alumni relations, fundraising activities, and other program communication and relationship-management as appropriate.
- Assist with summer camps and clinics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
- Ability to understand and comply with all rules and regulations of the Stanford University, Pac-12 Conference and NCAA.
- Computer literacy with common office applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with a variety of student-athletes, staff and coaches in the Department of Athletics, the University, and the community.
