Description
The Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in providing leadership for a NCAA Division I women’s soccer program. Assists with all aspects of the women’s soccer program and plays an integral part in the day-to-day administrative responsibilities, daily team training, evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes, academic monitoring, and skill development. This position must work within UNCW, CAA, and NCAA guidelines to provide student-athletes an exceptional collegiate experience while competing for championships.
Duties:
- Assists the Head Coach in providing leadership for a NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer program along with the overall coaching, management, and administration of the program.
- Teach the mental and physical aspects of the game while preparing student-athletes for life after intercollegiate sports.
- Assist with skill development of players and implement team strategies.
- Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the department and university as well as the rules and regulations of the CAA and NCAA.
- Assist the second assistant, team manager, and support staff while maintaining organization and administration of the program within a budget.
- Track countable athletic related activities through ARMS online system.
- Assist with team community service events and assist with team fundraising.
- Participate in university, civic, and public relations activities for promotion of the sport.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Must be highly dependable, flexible, and available to work evenings and weekends.
- Possess excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public.
- Strong problem solving skills.
