Description
The purpose of this position is to assist in recruiting and coaching student athletes, scheduling and directing workouts, practices, and games for the women’s soccer team according to the NJCAA and Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) rules and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports the day-to-day operations of the team by assisting with recruiting, practices, scheduling, and preparing for games.
- Processes names of prospective participants for the purpose of developing an eligibility list.
- Provides an environment for successful recruitment and retention of student athletes.
- Supports the development of student athletes’ success in the classroom and in their respective sport.
- Obtains inventory of equipment and supplies and assists with their distribution and management.
- Provides game day management and transportation to events.
- Assists with program and department fundraising.
- Communicates effectively orally and in writing to a diverse population of students.
- Advance and advocate a campus climate that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience coaching applicable sport at the high school or college level.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
- State of Iowa coaching authorization or ability to obtain.
- Valid driver’s license. Commercial Driver’s License preferred or willing to obtain.
