Assists the Head Coaches in planning, organizing, and evaluating all aspects of the athletic group they represent. Helps to run practice sessions, motivates athletes, and instructs them on how to follow through with strategies set out by the Head Coach.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree with one to three years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to lead and guide Division I student-athletes in area of specialty.
Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the game.
Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
Knowledge of athletic recruitment methods and techniques.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Ability to foster a cooperative environment.
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
Ability to meet requirements of the University’s automobile insurance.
Physical Requirements: medium physical activity exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, and hearing; close visual acuity; subject to inside and outside environmental conditions; subject to extreme cold and heat; subject to noise.
