Essential Functions:

Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation within the

collegiate sports program.

Teaches sports techniques, playing rules, strategies and playing tactics.

Supervises and conducts practices and contests safely, supervising locker rooms and buses.

Assists the head coach in carrying out his or her responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of volleyball rules and regulations.

Demonstrate good volleyball skills to team.

Well developed oral communication skills.

Effective supervisory techniques.

Ability to recruit players, schedule games, coordinate fundraisers, and market and promote the intercollegiate volleyball program.

Work effectively with players and other coaches.

The ability to instruct the athletes in individual and team fundamentals, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.

Carry out in a positive way he philosophy and objective of the sport.

Instills in each player a respect for equipment and college property, its care and proper use.
