Description
Under the direction of the Head Volleyball Coach, the Assistant Coach, Women’s Volleyball is responsible for assisting with the planning, developing and managing the operations of a Division I volleyball program within Chicago State University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in identifying and recruiting academically and athletically talented student-athletes for the women’s volleyball program.
- Assists in team coaching and individual player development.
- Assists in the coordination of team and individual travel for the purpose of team competition and player recruitment.
- Assists in preparation and implementation of both camps and clinics.
- Assists in scouting and video preparation to prepare team for competition.
- Assists in monitoring academic, social, and personal development of women’s volleyball student-athletes.
- Assists in the establishment of communication and enforcement of rules and regulations regarding student-athlete conduct, appearance, and behavior.
- Maintains knowledge and remains current regarding all appropriate NCAA, WAC, CSU Department of Athletics, and University compliance issues, policies, and procedures.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships and communications with students, colleagues, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and general public.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous coaching experience at the Division I level.
- Thorough knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
- Knowledge and/or experience of the recruitment process.
- Displayed success in the recruitment of student-athletes.
- Ability to work with and communicate effectively with all team members and support staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer and technical skills.
- Ability to train and motivate student-athletes.
- Working knowledge of Data Volley/Data Project/Volley metrics.
