Description
Assist the Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country / Track & Field Coach in overseeing the direction of the Cross Country / Track & Field programs at the NCAA Division II level. Duties include areas such as recruitment, student-athlete development, practice/meet preparation, practice/meet implementation of coaching principles, fund raising, public and alumni relations and other areas assigned by the Head Cross Country / Track & Field Coach. Additional duties include teaching activity classes in the KIP department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and administer all aspects of the operation of the Cross Country / Track & Field programs.
- Recruit Cross Country / Track & Field student-athletes on a regional and national basis.
- Develop and implement cross country / track & field practice sessions to meet needs for individual and team improvement.
- Coordinate travel arrangements (lodging, meals, etc) for team travel.
- Coordinate team gear orders.
- Enhance and promote the internal and external visibility and recognition of the University and team to a variety of alumni, campus and off-campus groups.
- Actively organize and participate in fund raising and alumni activities.
- Monitor and promote the academic success of student-athletes.
- Act as social media liaison for the Cross Country / Track & Field program.
- Represent and act on behalf of the University as directed by the Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country / Track & Field Coach.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Coaching Certification.
