Assistant Cross Country Coach (Recruiting)

Under the direction of the Head Men’s & Women’s Cross Country & Track & Field Coach, this position is responsible for the supporting the daily schedule and competitions for the cross-country program. This role will be responsible for coaching, recruiting, training, supervising, and retention of student-athletes specific to cross country. Will report directly to the Head Men’s & Women’s Cross Country & Track & Field Coach.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Recruit student-athletes according to NAIA, and Admissions procedures.
• Research online potential recruits.
• Recruit in person at meets
• Set up potential meetings at meets with recruits and families in advance
• Attend and recruit cross country runners for five weekends on Saturday mornings throughout the fall Attend and recruit during selected track meets in the winter/spring.
• Make initial contact with athletes who will be at meets around the Terre Haute area in conjunction with the head coach
• Continue contact with and track interested recruits.
• Assist in scheduling visits to campus.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree froman accredited college or university.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• College cross-country experience is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suites.
• AED/CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
