Description
The Assistant Director-Athletics is responsible for assisting the Director-Athletics in leading, supervising, and managing the overall program of extracurricular activities for the district. The Assistant Director of Athletics works collaboratively with staff and families to provide every student with the opportunity to participate in best-in-class extracurricular athletic activities through a systemic athletic program that develops character, leadership, pride, self-discipline, mental and physical health, teamwork, and leads to student lifelong success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate.
- Three years of successful athletic coaching and/or teaching experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist the Director - Athletics in leading, supervising, and managing the district’s athletic program and facilities.
- Assist the Director - Athletics in establishing physical and academic eligibility requirements for participation in each sport, and verify each athlete’s eligibility.
- Assist the Director - Athletics in an active program that promotes good sportsmanship and student development, including the time, resources, and materials to support the accomplishment of both district and department goals.
- Obtain and use evaluative findings, including student achievement data, to gauge athletic program effectiveness and ensure that program renewal is continuous and responsive to student needs.
