Perform responsible work involved in assisting principals and coaches in planning, designing, implementing, facilitating, supervising and coordinating comprehensive school division-wide athletic programs at the middle and high school level. The work requires an understanding of program goals along with a thorough knowledge of federal, state and local legislation and their role in the total system mission along with following and implementing guidelines. Has ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Teacher’s certificate and administrator certificate.
- Master’s degree in education, the arts, sciences or school administration, including or supplemented by course work in physical education and activities management.
- Considerable experience as a teacher and coach or athletic director.
Much work is performed in an office or athletic complex setting which requires activities such as walking, standing, sitting, operating office and communication equipment, lifting, presence on athletic fields, moving, and carrying light equipment, supplies, etc. Some assignments involve exposure to risks associated in dealing with emotional parents and students.
