Description
Long Island University (LIU), an NCAA Division I institution, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Assistant Director of Athletic Business Operations. This position is a key member of the LIU Athletics Business Operations team and is responsible for managing the financial operations of designated sports and administrative units within the Athletics Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the budgeting process for designated sports and administrative units.
- Process and track expenses, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budget limits.
- Manage invoices, payments, and purchase orders through the university’s procurement system.
- Handle reimbursement requests for staff and student-athletes.
- Perform credit card reconciliations, ensuring proper allocations.
- Coordinate and manage travel logistics for athletic teams.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletic Business Operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (foreign equivalent accepted).
- Two to four years of full-time experience in collegiate or professional athletic business operations.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office 365, and Adobe Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage tasks independently.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
