Description
Under the general direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Operations, the Assistant Director assists with managing the Athletic Operations Department of the Division of Athletics inclusive of facilities management, game operations and equipment services at the Brooklyn campus.
Responsibilities:
- Provide equipment, facility and laundry services to support University intercollegiate sports and student-athletes including practice/game day set-up and general operations.
- Effective supervision, training, evaluation and accountability for staff in Operations staff including full-time employees and student workers
- Assists with staff hiring inclusive of on-boarding new employees, as needed.
- Effectively communicates with assigned head and assistant coaches to certify all athletic equipment complies with applicable safety regulations and branding standards.
- Conducts equipment needs analysis, and provides consultation to coaching staff and athletes on the use of equipment
- Independently researches and determines if new safety protocols and equipment modifications should be implemented.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in athletics or equivalent setting.
- Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students on a daily basis.
- Ability to travel with teams, specifically attend all home practices and games and some away games.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and some holidays.
