Under the general supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletics Business Operations, the position oversees the daily travel functions and needs of the athletics department.
Responsible for the reconciliation and auditing of all travel advances, travel card charges and reimbursements for the department in a timely manner in accordance with University and NCAA policy and procedures.
Coordinates and monitors open travel requests and travel reimbursements; notifies athletic travelers of any outstanding travel requests or claims; receives and audits all travel expense claims with attached documentation for validity, accuracy and compliance.
Act as a liaison between department, on-site travel agent, procurement, Office of Contract Administration and outside vendors in general travel matters, procurement, and contracting processes.
Responsible for coordinating travel and mileage for all athletic teams, coaches and staff, including recruiting, professional development and travel involving prospective student athletes.
Develops and provides financial summary reports for the college or division business manager for both travel and department budgets.
Prepares and updates the Athletics Travel Procedures Manual to align with University, department and NCAA policy; coordinates travel policy education for the department.
Assists daily business office operations including but not limited to the preparation of vouchers, requisitions, SCRs, and journals.
In all settings and in all situations, serves as a positive ambassador for UH Athletics and UH in general.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelors and 1 year experience.
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional disciplines.
Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related, 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
