Description
The Assistant Director of Intramural & Club Sports provides leadership and direction in the development, administration, and evaluation of a comprehensive Intramural & Club Sports program, including student, faculty and staff intramural programs and a competitive club sport program. Serves during summer months as the Director of the Emory Sports Fitness Camp.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designs, develops, and implements a diversified and comprehensive Intramural, Club Sports and Summer Camp program. This includes, but is not limited to, intramural and clubs sport program administration, strategic planning, policy development, scheduling, staff training, assessment, risk management, special events, budget oversight, marketing, and equipment management.
- Develops short-term and long-term goals for the Intramural & Club Sports program with a formal assessment process. Maintains statistical data for all programs within areas of responsibility.
- Provides direction, guidance, and training to all club sports officers and advisors to ensure compliance with all departmental and university rules and regulations, fostering leadership/personal development and sound financial management.
- Creates and leads professional development and wellness clinics for Club Sport Coaches and Athletes.
- Advises the Club Sport Council and individual teams with budgeting, fiscal forecasting, traveling, goal setting, recruiting, and marketing.
- Coordinates daily practice and game schedules, travel procedures and requirements, facility reservations & membership policies of the Club Sport program.
- Maintains the Intramural & Club Sports website, membership database, and online forms required by the University. - Serves as the Camp Director of the Emory Sports Fitness Camp.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in sports management, physical education, recreation/leisure administration, education, or related field, and two years of experience in recreational sports programming specifically clubs' sports and/or intramurals, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required.
- A master's degree is preferred.
