Rhodes College has 23 NCAA Division III sponsored sports and are members of the Southern Athletic Association. The Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations (ADAMR) position is a two-year, 10-month NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant appointment and reports to the Director of Athletic Media Relations. The ADAMR will be expected to effectively create new media content to promote the Rhodes College brand, assist in coordinating outreach and marketing efforts to increase event attendance, implement a fan experience and assist in coordinating special events.
2-3 years of undergraduate experience in a sports information/athletic communications office.
Basic video editing, social media and graphic design skills, problem solving, and experience using a video camera and DSLR camera.
Experience writing publications.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a strong working relationship with students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and other college personnel.
Must have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends throughout the school year.
Valid driver’s license and must be qualified to be insurable by the College.
Postgraduate or internship experience in a sports information/athletic communications office.
Experience compiling in-game statistics for football, volleyball or men’s/women’s lacrosse.
New media experience, particularly on video editing.
Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign, and Photoshop.
